Hauser Hall combines atmosphere of romance with old-world architecture and modern décor on your wedding day

From the moment that we walked through the door at Hauser Hall three years ago, we knew local brides would love it. Originally a church built in the 1800's, Hauser Hall is an incredibly romantic ceremony and reception location nestled in the countryside of Heidelberg near St. Jacobs. Fully restored by the Hauser family (you'll likely recognize the name from Hauser Stores), this location incorporates old-world architecture, modern décor and an element of high-style romance that you thought you could only dream of for your wedding day.

Hauser Hall has two floors of beautiful décor and space for your ceremony, reception, and dance. From front to back, the hall offers both natural and contemporary sunken lighting, cathedral ceilings, and hardwood floors. Once you've toured Hauser Hall in person, you'll see just how easy it is to fall in love with.

The history...

This church-style building was acquired by the Hauser family for use within their family for special functions such as weddings, baptisms, and holiday get-togethers. Since the family is spread out throughout Kitchener-Waterloo, Toronto, and South Africa, they wanted a place to congregate and celebrate, just as you would do at your wedding.

When they purchased the building, it was a furniture factory and needed some desperate attention. Architect and family member, Drew Hauser, coordinated the restoration... click for full review

Much-anticipated event locale, St. George's Banquet Hall, exceeds all bridal expectations at grand opening

With only artist sketches in magazines and sneak peeks through the dust of on-going construction, local brides have been watching and waiting over a year for St. George Banquet Hall Conference & Events Centre to do the big reveal of their large newly-built locale. Early in the summer of 2006, the wait came to an end when St. George Banquet Hall unveiled a luxurious, palatial ceremony and reception venue that exceeds any expectations, gossip and rumours may have built up. Designed for couples planning an elegant, high-class wedding, St. George already has over forty weddings on their roster. General Manager, Herbert W. Mitterboeck and staff opened their doors to The Ring so that we interview and review of this soon-to-be booked-solid event centre.

A fixture of in the community

St. George Banquet Hall Conference & Events Centre has been a fixture in North Waterloo for over twenty years. Known for their corporate clients and high-end events, this locale has always put as much focus on customer service and even expertise, as any other part of an event centre business. General Manager Herbert W. Mitterboeck says that the new building is designed to carry on that tradition by giving people what they want, exceeding their expectations, maintaining a high reputation, and making sure everyone that goes through their doors does so wanting to come back. "If we make each event a memorable experience for the couple and... click for full review

Advice Chat: Disappointed with a bridesmaid...

"I know that some of you have talked about this before, but I just needed to vent a little. I have lived all over Canada growing up so I have friends everywhere. how I proposed!

"Hi, there! I'm new to the boards, been reading for a couple weeks to get ideas and such. And I thought I'd like to share our story! So, my now-fiance and I did things a little differently. At Christmas time, he gave me a beautiful ring, but it was meant to be a promise ring (as he did not want us to get engaged until after I was done school next year). Well, after that, I knew exactly where he stood, and I got it in my head that it would be cool for me to ask him to marry me. I was supposed to go away for teacher's college this September so I planned to propose to him my last night at home. However..."
