With a focus on treating customers and
fellow employees with no less than top notch respect, they opened
their first Tuxedo Royale store in 1979 and haven't altered their
main goals since. Tuxedo Royale now has sixteen locations across
Ontario, including one right here in Kitchener...
Their formal
wear makes appearances at the Juno's each year, in movie
productions like 'The Tuxedo', and at a ton of local weddings. We
asked Charlene Downey, Supervisor of the Fairview Park Mall
location, how Tuxedo Royale has come to be so famous for formal
wear. |
Formal wear that measures up to the movies,
the Juno's, and your wedding day

Tuxedo Royale
comes recommended by many of The Ring's grooms as well as some of
the area's top bridal shops in the area (the likes of Taylor's
Bridal... Charmante... ). After twenty-five years in the business
and a standard 'best price guarantee', they know exactly how to
take even the most ordinary guy and turn him into that handsome
man you'll be meeting at the alter.

This
family business is busy with weddings every weekend
typically doing approximately 25 weddings per weekend during
their busy season, some of which include a complete overhaul
of an outdoor space including tents, tables, chairs, linens,
dishes and accessories. With that many events, it would be
easy to wonder if quality gets lost in the numbers... |

most romantic proposal:
'Valentines Day Proposal!' by secondtimebride
I was widowed 6
years ago at age 42 and left to raise my 3 children. I basically thought my
life was over. I dated a few men about 4 years after my husband died but
most of them were after one thing only. Then I met Don. I had placed an ad
in the personal column of the Guelph Mercury and he read it in the Hamilton
Spectator! We met for coffee at Tim's and spent 4 hours talking! The rest is
history. He gave me a beautiful diamond eternity band at Christmas but did
not ask me to marry him then, only to spend eternity with him. To me that
was heaven. But on Valentines Day 2004 he arranged with my parents to watch
the kids and he took me to Niagara on
the Lake. We walked around the stores in the snow, took a horse and buggy
ride and walked down by the lake, it was beautiful. When we went to supper,
the restaurant was all done in pink, red and white for valentines day. We
had a beautiful table by the fireplace, with candles, and flowers on it, all
set up by him earlier in the day when I was taking a nap. After supper, he
started telling me how much he loved me and my children, and then he got up,
came around the table, got down on one knee (he is 50 and has a bad knee, so
this was a lot for him), and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.
Of course we both started crying and I said yes! The whole restaurant
cheered and the waiter gave us free drinks. It was the most romantic day of
my life.
my diary fave: 'Close' by
Cilairus
I just realized there is
only 3 and a half months to go! I'm starting to panic cuz there are a bunch
of things to do like getting favours, getting a bunch of decorations,
getting a song for the ceremony and getting the music together. Is anybody
else feeling the same thing?

When you're getting
married, you want your day to be remembered as YOUR day and not get
blurred together with your sister’s or your cousin’s wedding. Here are
some tips to really make your dream wedding
come to life with personality, starting with the first glimpse your guests will
get - the invitation!
•
Make your invitations
speak for you.
Invitations often show your guests of the type of wedding to
expect. Carry your flowers, colours or theme throughout your entire
wedding by starting with your invitations. If you have your heart set on
lilies on the invitation, consider using lilies as your main flower.
• Colours are
easy to incorporate throughout your wedding.
Try having a tiny detail or
graphic printed on each piece of your invitation package in your wedding
colour - i.e. linking hearts to show the love between the two of you or a
nautical compass (see right) because both of you are into sailing.
• If your are having a theme event...
such as a medieval or a
Victorian wedding, speak to
your designer regarding the look of any paper and printed materials. The
wording is just as important as the feel of the paper. Use language that
supports the theme.
• Carry it
forward...
The next time your guests
will see items regarding your wedding will be at the event itself. This
is a great time to use any graphics, styles or colours that were in the
invitation package. It will trigger your guests memory and
reassure them that they are indeed at the right wedding! Spice up
seating charts, menus, favour tags and wine labels just by placing your
colour or font on them!
• Extra touches
here & there go a long way...
Tie your favour tags,
centrepieces or wine glass stems with satin ribbon in your
colour boasting an elegant foil imprint of your names and the wedding
date. Your guests will keep and cherish this little extra as a bookmark
for a favourite novel or an agenda.
• Turn your
intials or names into a monogram or logo.
Your initials or
names can also be used on most of your printed pieces, by turning them
into a monogram or a logo. This can then be used on everything from your
invitation package to your seating charts to your favour tags. You can
also use this idea in the future by inserting it into email
communications, creating labels for your homemade wine, printed onto
custom greeting cards and wedding announcements.
• For showers &
parties...
So maybe you are not
getting married right now, but you know someone who is and you have
decided to plan a shower or party to celebrate this new adventure.
Showers and engagement parties are an ideal time to focus the attention
on the couple and what better way to do that than with foil imprinted
napkins in the couple’s wedding colours?
In
summary...
Your wedding is about
declaring to the world that this is the person you want to spend the
rest of your life with. Help everyone to remember the celebration of
your love and commitment by
making the day unmistakably yours!
