For this local wedding officiant your wedding day celebrates life and eternal love

Whether you'll be exchanging vows in a hot air balloon or having an inter-faith ceremony that  incorporates your children, Christina Brighton wants to be the one to celebrate your day with you. Chaplain of Celebrate Life, Christina believes that love is eternal. She makes sure that each couple she meets knows how important their wedding day and their future is to her. "A wedding is not one day to me or to my bride and groom. It has meaning. It is one of the few days that will last forever. It's a celebration of life itself." Christina Brighton was originally licenced by the Association of Unity Churches Canada five years ago. She now spends her time performing wedding ceremonies of all kinds and teaching part time in Etobicoke. "I consider myself a high-energy person... I get a high when I'm speaking on a Sunday and when I'm performing a wedding." But it's the weddings Christina has performed in... click for more

Local online boutique offers raw silk and couture designs for the little ones

One of The Ring's most exciting and unique finds to date has got to be Petite Parfait. Owner and designer Erika Mills offers brides the best in bridal couture style for the smallest members of their wedding party. From luxurious flower girl gowns to baby boy tuxedos, Erika uses raw silk to create custom, hand-made fabulous gowns, little boy attire and bridal accessories. Erika uses no pre-set size patterns, but instead creates each gown based on the measurements of your little girls or boys. You can choose from several different sleeve, sash and colour options for gowns which are clearly laid out on her website. In addition to dresses, Petite Parfait also offers rosebud wreaths, hair buds, ribbon rose carriers and ring pillows. And for the little gentlemen in your party, she can make vests, pants, shirts, suspenders and ties to match the flower girl's dress. Erika has been sewing all her life. "I remember looking for fabric and materials to work/play with when I was little. I was probably about six years old the first time I... click for more

Purely Music brings a classic touch to your wedding day with cello or string ensembles

Live instrumental music holds a unique power to set the tone of a wedding day with its characteristic rich sound and elegant appearance. Cellist, Natalie Williams, knows this better than anyone because she has been performing at weddings for over fifteen years. With talents that have taken her across the globe, we felt honoured that she chose to focus her future on our local wedding community. Natalie owns Purely Music, a business which organizes a group of seasoned musicians who perform live classical music for some of life's most important events. Either performing her cello alone or amidst a string ensemble of several musicians, Natalie coordinates music for countless local indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies, garden parties, rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, cocktail hours, receptions, anniversaries and showers. We sat down with Natalie to find out more about what she does for brides. Music isn't just Natalie's passion, it's in her blood... click for more

Drumbo Tent Company has a reputation for serving brides with both shelter and style for local outdoor weddings. With the outdoor wedding becoming more and more popular, we wanted to be sure to tell you everything you needed to know about one of the best in the tent business. Designer creates scrumptious cakes that look & taste almost Too Nice to Slice

Chrissie Boon is talented, enthusiastic, and as sweet as the cakes she designs each day. Before recently opening Too Nice to Slice, Chrissie had already run a successful custom cookie business, baked wedding cakes by request for over six years, and got her Master Cake Decorator certificate. In fact, when you look at her past, it seemed only inevitable that Chrissie would eventually trade in her cookie cutter for a cake stand. This designer considers the fact that her company is new to the local wedding scene to be one of its biggest advantages. "I have the opportunity to offer a new energy, a fresh perspective and approach to design... ," she says. "I can't wait to share my ideas with the brides and grooms who come to see me." Chrissie's sweet designs are intricate and aimed at elegance. Equally important, these creations taste as good as they look... click for more

Subject: 2 months to go and now I'm stressing

"Hi everyone, Please tell me some of you are feeling the way I am! We have been engaged for two years and everything is done. I think thats what the problem is............the waiting game. Waiting for the wedding, waiting for the showers, waiting for the stag and Doe. It's very exciting but now after two years I just want the day to come. Is there anyone feeling the way I do?"

Subject: HELP NEEDED BADLY

"Well most of you already know my planning has not been easy but thing had started to settle down for me or so i thought. About two weeks ago my fh's mother emailed us both, i got mine first. She stated that we need to postpone the wedding and that she thinks its a mistake for us to get married and on and on. So after her telling me for two years to grow a back bone i did. I told her exactly how i felt and told her that no one will ever be good enough for her son (he's an only child). Now the next morning i thought about it and apologized, and two more times after that. All over with right. HA NOT! last friday i went out and mike talked to her for two and a half hours by the end of the conversation she said she was done and was happy and blah blah blah. Sunday i get a phone call from my aunt asking me why mikes mom called her..."

Subject: Four Days

"WOAH! I've been so busy lately I haven't been able to post. Last night my mom finished making our favours and helped me wrap the bridemaids gifts. I also wrapped the presents I got FH...the worst wrapping job I've done but what can you do. Oops! I've been emailing Shannon from Grey Silo, Doris from Bingemans, and Mary from Do It in Style several times a day. They are all so great! Oh and our photographer called last night to discuss final details. We sent the seating chart off to Mary to get printed yesterday and I'm working on the floor plan... Man, I feel like I'm riding an emotional roller coaster and that I could cry at the drop of a hat. Laughing Cross your fingers that the 60% chance...."

Subject: My wedding story

"This wedding, was something I did not want from the start. I wanted to get married yes, but Wedding - NO!! But my fh wanted it, and so did my family -so I agreed for their sake. I know myself pretty well, and to say I am a perfectionist is a bit of an understatement. So I knew that when I agreed to do it, it was going to spell out A LOT of work for me. Not only would i be planning and executing this event on my own in 6 months from start to finish I was also in my last year of college. I have an 8 year old daughter and My fh just received a job offer in Alberta for september, so that is a world shifter in itself (moving away). Things progressed pretty well. I picked my party. One regret here, I picked one (MOH) for nostalgic reasons... BIG mistake. She turned out to be a nightmare (details to follow) One of my other BM's I would not have picked in retrospect - I picked her on a whim and I regret it now. I had one BM who was amazing and did everything I asked of her and more and was so supportive and just the best friend I could have asked for. I picked out my dress in December and was so excited, got the BM's dresses at the same store. My mom made my..."

May's

most romantic proposal!

Subject: Didn't have a clue!

"Paul and I have been together for just over two years and have talked about marriage very little throughout our relationship (although we both knew that we'd be together forever). We didn't really 'celebrate' Valentine's Day this year because Paul told me that he wanted to 'go away' for a weekend in March (it was my birthday on March 3). He took me to Niagara Falls on March 10, 2006 for the weekend. When we arrived at the hotel, I couldn't figure out why he had picked such a 'lavish' room overlooking the falls, jacuzzi etc. We are trying to save money to buy a house! Anyway, I thought it was sweet that he wanted to give me such a nice weekend. The following day was spent doing lots of fun things, we had a great time. He told me we were having dinner at the 'Skylon', which was so nice. He seemed a little distant during dinner and at one point I accused him of 'not listening' to me when I was talking. After dinner he said we should go to the place across from the hotel for some drinks. The plan was to go get changed and to this place after, to watch some brazilian dancing and listen to live music. I thought it was strange that he wanted to go right away (little did I know that he was 'buying time'). Lucky for him, I didn't put up a fight about wanting to change. We went for a drink, and suddenly he was ready to go back to the hotel. We walked into our room and I could hear music coming from the bedroom. I thought..."
